The trustees hereby give notice that the Annual general meeting of the East Williamston Community And Hall Association will be held at 7.00 p.m. on Monday 5th June 2023 at East Williamston Community Hall SA70 8RT
Agenda
(In accordance with the requirements of the Association’s Constitution they retire as trustees by rotation at the AGM. They have all offered themselves for re-appointment.) · To confirm the appointment as trustees of Julie Burgess and Jenny Oliver who were appointed by the trustees since the last AGM. Following the formal business there will be an open forum for discussion about any matters concerning the Community, the Community Hall and the Jubilee Park and Nature Trail. Click here to view the papers for the meeting. There are exciting times coming up next week, for the Jubilee Park and its volunteers, it would be nice to have the park looking at its best so any help with litter picking would be very much appreciated.
On this coming Monday 17th April Pembrokeshire Coast Charitable Trust’s Force of Nature Grant team will be filming in the park as we have secured funding from them for a piece of maintenance equipment. Filming will be taking place in the park from 9am and it would be nice to see some park users walking around and possibly interviewed. On Tuesday 18th April the park is being inspected for Green Flag status which the park has held continuously for the past eight years. Hopefully we can continue our streak. Then on Wednesday 19th April the park volunteers will be attending an award ceremony in Cardiff. They are finalist in a competition run by Keep Wales Tidy for the Natures Heroes Award keep an eye on our social media for updates. Following the driest year since 1976, record warm temperatures and an increased demand for water, water resources (or reservoirs) for the Pembrokeshire area have reached drought levels.
While this does not pose an immediate risk to water supplies for the area, Dwr Cymru are having to take steps to ensure enough water remains to continue supplying customers and to protect the local environment. From 08.00am on 19th August, a Temporary Use Ban (TUB), more commonly known as a ‘hosepipe ban’, will come into force for customers in Pembrokeshire and a small adjoining part of Carmarthenshire. This will mean that if you have your water supplied by Dwr Cymru in this area then you will not be able to use a hosepipe to carry out activities in and around your property such as watering plants or filling paddling pools or hot tubs. The Temporary Use Ban will remain in place until there has been enough rain to replenish the water resources. You can find out more about what the restrictions mean for you by viewing Dwr Cymru's handy frequently asked questions page. A map showing the areas the Temporary Use Ban applies to can be seen below. The prize bingo night held in East Williamston Hall last weekend was such a success the committee have decided to make it a monthly event.
Bingo nights will now be in the hall on the 4th Saturday of each month (excluding December). Doors and bar open 6:30pm eyes down 7:30pm. Come along you never know what you might win! Local girl Poppy has given her seal of approval to the new play equipment in East Williamston Jubilee park. She took some brilliant photos for us as well.
Thanks Poppy for your feedback. Do you have any photos of the area you would like us to include in our website? Please send them to us on Facebook or via email [email protected] The play equipment at the Jubilee Park will begin to be updated and maintained from Monday 11th October. During this time the playground section of the jubilee park will be out of bounds.
It's been a long time, but at last our popular quiz nights are starting up again this Saturday! Then they will continue on the second Saturday of each month.
The first quiz master is Tracy who is notorious for giving us an entertaining fun quiz. You never know what will come up next! The bar opens 7.30 and the Quiz will begin at 8pm. £2.00 per team member, so come along, make up a team or you'll be welcome to join in with others. We look forward to welcoming old and new friends. Successful Ambassadors will be contacted by March 15. For more information, visit the Torch Theatre’s website at www.torchtheate.co.uk/yfa The ever-changing COVID-19 situation continues to put NHS staff and services under huge pressure. Now more than ever people need to think carefully about where the right place is to seek advice and avoid extra pressure on the NHS this winter. However, the NHS is still here for you if and when you need it, but the way you access services might be different. We are encouraging people to still attend their hospital appointments when asked to or review their treatment. A range of appropriate measures have been taken in hospitals to keep people safe, including treating people with coronavirus or suspected coronavirus in separate areas to those who do not have the virus to prevent the risk of it spreading. The NHS is working hard to keep services running while trying to keep you safe. If you are worried about persistent symptoms contact your GP. After being offered a medical appointment please make sure you attend at the scheduled time. It is safe to do so. Alternatively, you may be offered a video consultation; this is still a full consultation visit but saves you travelling to your local surgery. As well as making sure you seek help when you need it, the Keep Wales Safe campaign is asking people to use the online symptom checker on the NHS 111 Wales website (111.wales.nhs.uk) or call 111 for advice on where to go to get the right treatment. By choosing the right service for your needs we can ensure we do not put extra pressure on GPs, Emergency Departments and the emergency ambulance services as they continue to tackle the pandemic. Did you know that community pharmacies play a key role in helping people, with minor ailments and injuries, get the right medicines and support. Where possible you can assist pharmacists by ordering repeat prescriptions seven days before they are due. Or if you have a minor injury there are clinics that can treat you so you don’t need to go to A&E? Find your closest clinic here And remember if you have COVID symptoms no matter how mild, please self-isolate and book a test by calling 119 or call 111 if symptoms persist and you can no longer cope at home. We’re all in this together. Help us help you. Steve Moore, Chief Executive of Hywel Dda UHB, said: “We are confident that everyone in priority groups 1 to 4 will be offered a vaccine by Monday 15 February thanks to the amazing efforts of vaccinating teams across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. “However, people change phone numbers or move to a new house and may not always update their contact details with health services.
